Situated within the historic Haydarpaşa Train Station precinct overlooking the Marmara Sea and Kadıköy Bay, this vital operational hub serves as a contemporary addition to a deeply significant site. The facility accommodates complex infrastructural requirements—including administrative offices, technical bureaus, and specialized monitoring and signalization rooms. Drawing subtle inspiration from the kinetic energy and industrial materiality of the railways it serves, the design, realized in collaboration with architect İlhami KURT, features a robust steel structure enveloped in a striking corten steel facade. The resulting streamlined, functional geometry and rusted metallic palette evoke the timeless engineering of locomotive design, yielding a highly specialized, modern civic facility that quietly honors the rich, rail-bound heritage of its surroundings.
